Amy Scarlett Meehan (b. 1993) is a self-taught painter born in London, UK, who has been living between Los Angeles and San Francisco since 2005. She paints in oil and acrylic, playing with light, shadow, and reflection to bring a sense of awe to ordinary objects and scenes. She seeks to highlight the profundity to be found in mundane moments, in reaction to the dizzying pace of modern life and the pull of digital distractions. With curiosity and humor, her work invites viewers to find stillness and beauty in easily-dismissible moments.

When not painting, Amy works as a children’s theater teacher in San Francisco. She also performs improv comedy at theaters around the Bay Area.
